Outreach Programme
The overarching goal of the Outreach Programme is to ensure that the broad range of individuals, communities and sectors infected and affected by HIV/AIDS are invited and encouraged to engage and participate in the conference as a whole, including planning, implementation, and development of the International AIDS Conference experience overall.
Through networking, facilitating, cooperation and inclusion, the outreach programme is designed to be accessible, grassroots, and diverse. Particular focus on outreaching to marginalized individuals and communities that typically have not been involved in international AIDS conferences will also be a key goal for the outreach program.
AIDS 2006 will employ an innovative approach to outreach, with efforts and initiatives employed to increase collaboration and participation amongst not only the three program committees (leadership, community, science), but also the three program activities (global village, cultural programme, youth programme) at local, national and international levels.
How can I get involved with the Outreach Programme?
Participate on Toronto Local Host sub-committees in areas of interest to you that match your skills and abilities
Submit ideas, projects, proposals, and suggestions to any or all of the programme areas
APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP
APPLY for short/long term and on-site volunteer and employment opportunities
Fundraise for the Toronto Local Host or any organization you would like to support for the conference
Check the website for regular updates and information
Become an Outreach Ambassador and talk to family, friends, colleagues, and strangers about the conference and how they could get involved
Share your contacts, networks, and connections with Toronto Host staff
Explore opportunities at other AIDS service organizations in their plans to participate at the conference
Refer your international contacts to the AIDS2006 website
Submit requests for conference information, materials, speaking opportunities, and presentations to outreach@aids2006.org.

event(s) at the Community Outreach Booth in the Global Village between August 12 and 18, 2006!
We will be happy to include information about your
event(s) on our main calendar at our booth, and will have space available for promotional materials.
